Make sure your wedding program is accurate
One of the most important documents of your wedding day is the wedding program.
The reason for this is that the wedding program is the outline of how the day is planned. It contains information such as when the church service begins and ends, where the wedding reception is held etc.
Let me list a few major things that should be included in your wedding program;
What time you would like the guests to arrive at the church, temple or the site where the religious ceremony takes place
Address of the church, temple or the site where the religious ceremony is held
Duration of the religious ceremony
Background of the religious ceremony if you’re inviting people of another faith or culture
Who will be speaking
Venue, including address where the wedding reception will be held
Venue, including address if the dinner is held at a different location, including the time when the invited guest should arrive
Are the guests expected to make their own way between the different venues
If you do this part of your planning carefully, then your day should be just about perfect. I would suggest that you allocate plenty of time for travelling between venues, and you may even want to include a map of how to get to the different venues.
The above list outlines the practical reasons of why you would want to create a wedding program, but we shouldn’t underestimate the emotional value of this document.
A wedding program should also be created to remind your guests of the day and how it unfolded. You can also use the program to thank “special” people for their contributions or what they mean in the life of the bride and groom.
I suggest that you also hand out your wedding program to the people at the different venues, e.g. church, restaurant etc. This will help them to help you keep on time.
The Service
Outline the order of the service and include the names of the people who will contribute during the service. It can be quite annoying if a well meaning surprise speaker steps up and turns the whole schedule upside down

A wedding program is a wonderful way to acknowledge the members of the wedding party and they’re contributions to the couples life. Many of us would feel honored to be mentioned as a very special guest of the wedding party. It is quite likely that each member mentioned in your wedding program will keep their copy of the wedding program, because you made them feel very special.
The Important Instructions
Most weddings last all day, or depending on your cultural background the ceremony could take multiple days. Therefore it could get a little confusing to figure out where to go and when to get there. A good wedding program will outline all of these details for the guests. The bride and groom will be thankful to the guest if they stick to the program as outlined. You are helping the newly wed couple to make it their day to be remembered for the rest of their lives.
